Antenatal Clinic

The midwives avaiable for the antenatal clinic on Tuesdays.

Family Planning Clinic

Alternate Wednesdays (9.30-11.15am)
A family planning doctor with a nurse provides contraceptive care including insertion of coils by appointment only. Please fing 439 7963
The contraceptive pill may also be prescribed by the GP practice during normal consultations and by the family planning nurse on Tuesday 4.30-6.00pm.

Dr Hill is available for coil insertion once a month (Tuesday 4.30 - 6.30pm)

Baby Clinic

Dr Ali, Dr Lowe and the health visitors are responsible for the eight-week baby developmental checks and first immunisations. The clinic also allows an opportunity to discuss other relevant problems eg sleeping, feeding and child health worries. Please ring for appointment 439 7963.

Follow-up immunisation clinics are run by our practice nurses on Monday afternoon, by appointment. Please ring 426 5850.

Asthma and COPD Clinic

This is a weekly clinic run by a practice nurse trained in asthma management. Monitoring of asthma drugs is carried out as well as inhalation techniques and peak flow readings. Please make an appointment through the treatment room receptionist.

Diabetic Clinic

This is a weekly clinic run by a practice nurse trained in diabetic management. In the clinic, routine blood, urine and blood pressure tests are undertaken, and diet and lifestyle advice given. You will be contacted by the practice during the month of your birthday to make two appointments - the first for your blood tests and the second approximately two weeks later for your appointment with the nurse. Please make an appointment through reception.

Blood Pressure Review Clinics

Patients on medication for raised blood pressure (hypertension) see the practice nurse and doctor (on an alternate basis) every six months, once the medication is controlling the blood pressure. Please make an appointment through the receptionist or, alternatively, make your appointment with the healthcare assistant.

Cervical Smears

Please book an appointment to see the practice nurse through the receptionist.

Coronary Screening

This clinic is run by the practice nurses and includes advice on diet, exercise, smoking, etc. Blood pressure is checked. Please make an appointment through the receptionist.

Dressings Clinic

This service is for all dressings and change of dressings, ear syringing, vitamin B12 injections and removal of sutures. This is by appointment only.
For Bramhall Health Centre Dressing Clinic the opening times are as follows: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 9.00am and 2.00pm. Please phone 439 7963 for appointments. Please remember to use their direct telephone number and please do not try to access this clinic through the practice switchboard, as we are unable to transfer you.

The Travel Clinic

This is run by our practice nurses. Please make an appointment through the receptionist. We warmly invite patients who are not registered with our practice. Our experienced nurses provide advice on antimalarial medication and travel vaccines as well as administering injections. Patients not registered with the practice will be charged a fee. Please try and come at least eight weeks in advance of your holiday to ensure adequate cover. Please note we are also a yellow fever vaccine centre.

Private (non-NHS) Examinations

The doctors are happy to carry out medicals, eg insurance and driving licence, by appointment. Please telephone the surgery for an appointment. There is a charge for these services.

Minor Surgery

Dr Tahghighi carries out minor surgery that is considered suitable in general practice.  Please note that Dr Tahghighi will see the patient during a routine surgery appointment to confirm that minor lumps or bumps are suitable for excision in general practice and do not require a referral to outpatients doctors are happy to carry out medicals, eg insurance and driving licence, by appointment. Please telephone the surgery for an appointment. There is a charge for these services.

Joint Injections

Dr Hill carries out certain joint injections. Your usual GP will assess if this is suitable to be undertaken by Dr Hill in the practice before booking the patient for this procedure.

New Patient Screening Clinic

All new patients who register with our practice need to attend for blood pressure and urine screening, height and weight checks and alcohol and smoking status. Please make an appointment with the treatment room receptionist for a new patient screen when first joining the practice.

 

VACCINATION CLINICS

These are run by our practice nurses by appointment only. The clinics are held in the nurses' treatment room. Please make an appointment through the treatment room receptionist.

Adult Vaccinations

Although current advice suggests that if you have had five tetanus injections in the past, then you are probably covered for life, we still recommend a booster every 10 years.

Child Vaccinations

All the recommended vaccines are given from two months of age until school leaving age. (The first vaccination is given at the eight-week baby clinic.)

Flu Vaccination

An influenza vaccination is particularly recommended for patients with heart, lung, kidney disease, or diabetes and residents of nursing and residential homes. This vaccination is also recommended for all patients aged 65 years and over. From September each year, details of vaccination dates and appointments can be obtained from reception staff.

Pneumococcal Vaccination

This is available all the year round for patients with chronic breathing and heart problems, those who have had splenectomies and other at-risk patients.

Travel Immunisations/ Vaccinations

It is advisable to make an appointment at least eight weeks in advance of your holiday to ensure adequate cover. A charge will be made for certain immunisations and vaccinations that are not covered by the NHS.

Yellow Fever Vaccinations

Bramhall Health Centre is an authorised Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre.
